IDEOLOGICAL CURRENTS IN THE 19TH-CENTURY SPANISH AMERICAN NOVEL

A survey of the principal trends (Romanticism, Realism, Naturalism) in 19th-Century Spanish American narrative with a special focus on the role these texts play in the development of a cultural and national identity.
