PRESS REC: (RE)CONTEXTUALIZING PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

This course is an introduction to digital video production using Final Cut Pro; acquiring and editing source materials, and creating a complete digital video work.

We will explore the idea of documentation in cultural production in relationship to history of past, present and future:

+ Investigation of historiography and "history" as narrative

+ Identifying role of documenting "everyday life" and its political implication

+ Questioning the meaning and production of "history"

+ Appropriating postproduction materials as aesthetic and conceptual strategy
