ART CS 101, Section 3 EC # 59808
DRAWING

This class will focus on drawing from observation but with an experimental approach. The goal will be to further each class member's personal language of image making. There will be class assignments and a weekly quota of finished drawings.

Please bring the following to the first class meeting:

descriptions of one or two drawing projects or experiments that you think it would be productive for you to undertake.

the names of five artists whose drawings you admire.

At the first class meeting you will also need:

a drawing board at least 24 x 30 ins in size

paper, some of which should be at least 15 x 20 ins

a sketchbook of some sort at least 6 x 9 ins

an assortment drawing tools including charcoal of various kinds, graphite, a kneaded eraser, anything you especially like to use including ink or gouache and brushes

Eventually you will need some sort of portfolio or case to carry drawings and paper.
