AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL LITERATURE

STUDENT COLLOQUIUM

The goal for this course is to address the culture of Australia from a non-Eurocentric perspective, specifically taking the viewpoint of the Australian Aborigines. The class will concentrate mostly on literature, but we will be taking a look at music, films, and artwork as well.

Films will Include:

"Rabbit-Proof Fence"

"The Tracker"

"We of the Never-Never"

Music will Include:

Yothu Yindi

David Hudson

Student Colloquia are limited to a maximum of Two (2.0) units Pass. Units for this class are lower-division UCSB units.

For CCS Literature Majors: Student Colloquia may not be applied to Core Course Requirements.
