In this course, students will dive head first into the technical aspects of producing a musical designed for both the stage as well as television. Working together we will be tasked with the creation and design of all sound, lighting, scenery, props, video and multimedia elements required for the new musical written by students in the Fall CCS course, "CCS TV Musical." The final performance will ultimately be scheduled for broadcast nation-wide on UC Television. Beginning with an analysis of the script and all the possibilities that it might contain, we will collectively design the environment in which the musical will play out. Students will be involved in a variety of roles in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the technical side of theater. After the initial design phase, we will build and install our sets, run technical rehearsals, produce any media elements involved as well as work with UCSB TV Services on the successful creation of the televised portion of the musical. Students from Art and Dramatic Arts are highly encouraged to enroll! Instructor(s): Scott Cazan Time(s): Monday and Tuesday, 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm Place(s): Bldg. 494, Rm. 164 << Back |
