CCS music students are required to follow a general curriculum outline
during the course of their studies. The outline requires the completion
of specified courses offered in L&S (or occasionally in CCS), the
completion of 4 units of composition and the successful completion of
an academic course in music each quarter. Academic courses are not specified,
but must be approved by the academic advisor. In addition to these quarterly
requirements, students must pass a Sophomore and Junior year jury and
complete a Senior recital. More information regarding these requirements
is available from the CCS office.

The CCS COMPOSERS STUDIO (Room 154C) has been set up as a basic audio
workstation area, with principal applications in software music notation,
MIDI sequencing, basic editing and duplication. It is not equipped for
sophisticated recording or mastering. Use of this studio is limited to
those students who have completed the requirements for access. The studio
is open after hours, though it is often used for private instruction during
the day. (See Recording Room in the Equipment
Information section of this handbook for a list of equipment in
this room and rules for its use.)
