Publications of Student Work

CCS is home to:

Spectrum a UCSB literary publication to which CCS students have been major contributors for many years. Many have had literary and/or art work published in the magazine. Others have served as editors or assisted in another aspect of production. If you are interested in submitting work to Spectrum, manuscripts are considered from September to February. Please limit prose manuscripts to fifteen pages and poetry to ten, and enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Send work or inquiries to Spectrum, P.O. Box 14800, UCSB, Santa Barbara, CA 93107.

Into the Teeth of the Wind is a bi-monthly poetry journal produced by CCS students who serve as editors, contributors, and publishers. Submissions are also sought from the greater community. Look for submission dates and deadlines to be posted at the College or write to: Into the Teeth of the Wind, University of California, Santa Barbara, College of Creative Studies, Santa Barbara, CA 93106.

Discovery is UCSB’s journal of undergraduate student research. Manuscripts are considered from all scholarly fields and must be based on original research. A letter of recommendation from a faculty member must accompany your camera-ready manuscript. Deadline for submissions is one week after spring quarter finals. Complete guidelines may be obtained from the Math Department Office, room 6607 in South Hall.

• Often research work involving undergraduates can be published in professional journals in collaboration with a faculty advisor.
