The CCS Parents' Committee
The CCS Parents' Committee was established in 2002 to receive and coordinate
gifts to support CCS and its students. The CCS Parents' Committee's mission
is to promote a better understanding of the need for philanthropic resources
and to identify support to CCS. Committee members assist the CCS Dean and
Director of Development in their fundraising efforts whie also providing financial
support to meet the needs of CCS students.
CCS Parents' Committee Overview
At the heart of the CCS Parents' Program are families that serve on our Parents'
Program Committee. These volunteers form the lifeblood of the Program's activities
while the Director of Development coordinates their efforts. The success of
our Program depends largely on the leadership and enthusiasm provided by the
committee. The committee members are invited yearly; most members serve during
the years that their children are in school.
Although the committee is an active working group, participation is not uncomfortably
demanding. Committee members' resposibilities generally include the following:
Committee Participation.
Committee members are asked to volunteer on the committee according to their
interests and talents. The committee is designed to help involve all committee
members more actively in the Program. Members are also encouraged to host
events within their regions to foster a stronger sense of community within
all families and to assist in fund raising efforts.
Contribution to the Parents' Program.
The Program urges 100% financial participation from the committee so that we
may ask others to join us in supporting CCS students. Parents' Committee
members are encouraged to make gifts at the level to qualify for membership
in the Dean's Fund for Excellence ($1000 or more annually). Leadership
levels within the Parents' Committee begin at $10,000.
Meetings.
The committee meets approximately twice a year to exchange ideas for projects
that will benefit CCS and to discuss goal-setting, brainstorming and activities
of the Program.
Representation of the Parents' Program and CCS.
Committee members' names will appear on the CCS Parent Program letterhead.
They also represent the College enthusiastically in their community. Periodic
updates inform members of the Program's status, upcoming mailings, and other
pertinent information.
