Be a part of Music for Spaces

Would you like to be a part of Music for Spaces? Download one or more of the files on this page to your portable music device — laptop, cell phone, MP3 player (with built in speakers). On the night of the performance, pick a spot on campus and at 8:00 PM SHARP begin playing any number of the downloaded Music for Spaces files in any order you wish on your personal audio hardware. With the music playing, move slowly to the courtyard of the Music Bowl.

Our goal is to have as many individuals inhabiting as many “spaces” as possible armed with Music for Spaces on their portable devices, and for these individuals to slowly converge to the “Great Tree” in the music bowl’s courtyard for an unprecedented multi-nodal musical experience, where at 8:30 PM the ritual will seek final culmination. For those of you with laptops with either/and/or Windows Media Player, iTunes, or Audacity, we invite you to come to the Music Department courtyard early — 8:15 PM — in order for you to receive special instructions on how to play an important role in the evening’s performance.
