Christine earned her BA in literature from the CCS in 1973 and received her MA in Creative Writing from Brown University, 1977. Her first novel, Expecting was published 1982. In the past decades she has published short stories in various literary magazines, and recently she completed a new collection of short stories, What to Wear to See the Pope and Other Stories. Christine has shared her talents as a writer lecturing literature at CCS, at Pace University and at SUNY Purchase. Additionally, Christine sits on the board of the Hudson Valley Writers Center in Sleepy Hollow, NY, Scenic Hudson, Environmental Advocates, and the Orchard Foundation in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
Christine and Jeffrey Hewitt endowed the Brancart Fiction Prize and the Richardson Poetry Prize in the College of Creative Studies to honor the memory of their grandmothers, Reine Brancart and Henrietta Wing Richardson.
