Jim Messina

Jim Messina is a musician, writer, singer, producer and engineer. As a member of such seminal rock legends as Buffalo Springfield, Poco and Loggins & Messina, Jim has had his hand in virtually every aspect of the music industry. He began playing the guitar at the age 5 and by 17 he was being sought after to assemble musicians and produce albums. Jim?s skill in technical sound engineering grew as he began working with Hollywood?s famed Sunset Sound, assiting on projects with Lee Michaels, Joni Mitchell, Doors and many others. In 1966 Jim joined Buffalo Springfield as a recording engineer and later produced the perfor med with them. In 1968 form the band Poco. In the 1970?s Jim began to work with Kenny Logins. The Loggins & Messina collaboration released nine albums in seven years, amassing sales of over 14 million units. Jim conducts the Songwriters? Performance Workshop at various location in the US. He continues to write, sing and produce music from his studio/home in the Santa Ynez Valley.
