Forrest Galante, CCS Biology ‘09, rediscovered the Fernandina Giant Tortoise thought to be extinct for 113 years on February 15th, 2019. Galante, the host of Animal Planet’s “Extinct and Alive,” and his team tracked down the female tortoise after two days of searching a volcanic island of the Galapagos. This discovery will air on the show this summer.
