Whether you are giving your time, in-kind donations, or financial support,
the College of Creative Studies appreciates your generosity!
Alumni, parents, and friends of the College of Creative Studies have a tremendous, positive impact on the life of the College in many ways. Charitable gifts provide the margin of excellence that facilitates our service to students, allowing the College to build an unparalleled learning environment that has earned us the title "the Graduate School for Undergraduates."
Whatever your philanthropic goals, we are ready to work with you. Gifts to UC Santa Barbara can be directed specifically to the College, our programs, or our majors. We gratefully accept gifts of a variety of assets, including appreciated securities, cash, and property. Gifts can be made outright, pledged over time, or given through planned-giving vehicles such as charitable unitrusts, charitable lead trusts, gift annuities, or bequests. Your gift can be structured to yield tax benefits, provide income to you, or present other welcome advantages for you and the College of Creative Studies.
College Giving Priorities
Dean's Fund for Excellence
The Dean's Fund for Excellence is CCS’s annual fund, providing unrestricted support that allows the College to respond to the most pressing needs and opportunities, such as inviting distinguished visiting lecturers, increasing summer research opportunities for students, faculty and classroom support, materials and facility improvements, and providing College-wide enrichment programs for students across all CCS majors. Gifts of all sizes appreciated.
Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships “SURF”
Gifts to SURF provide students in math and the sciences with stipends that allow them to undertake research projects with UCSB faculty over the summer. Gifts of all sizes appreciated. You can establish a fellowship in your name (or someone you wish to honor) with a gift of $3,000 or more. Named SURF endowments can be established with $75,000 or more and can leave a lasting legacy. Contact the Director of Development for more information about named and endowed research fellowships.
CCS Builders: Endowing a Major
Become a CCS Builder and help create a foundational level of support for a particular major. By endowing one or more of CCS's eight majors, you can help provide the resources needed to enhance our innovative program of instruction and expand research and creative opportunities for our students. Endowments can be established with gifts of $25,000 or more. Naming opportunities exist beginning at $1M – contact the Director of Development for details.
Endowed Chairs are among the most important types of gifts to higher education and have been proven invaluable for insuring faculty excellence, recruitment and retention. A named Chair for the Dean of the College of Creative Studies is available and can be established with a gift of a $1M. Contact the Director of Development if you'd like more information about endowing the Deanship of other ways to support faculty.
CCS New Building Capital Campaign
Housed in one of the original buildings when the campus was a Marine base, it is widely known that CCS is in need of a new or updated facility. While we are not actively in a capital campaign, interested parties should contact the Director of Development for status updates and ways to become further involved.
